SYNOPSIS
Ever Harding used to believe in love. That is until she was left heartbroken by the only person she ever really loved, Jack, the mysterious boy from her history class. Little did she know he was born of the sea, on land to watch over her. But was he really? She made the ultimate sacrifice, to live in the sea as a mermaid, for Jack and for love. But she found that in the end, that love wasn't enough.
Now she finds herself alone, having to make a huge choice. She must decide whether to defend others against the choices she has made or fight for the freedoms of a population, she has just become a part of.
Ever's brother James, became a part of the sea not by any choice of his own, but he is willing to embrace it as long as a certain long legged, beauty is by his side. But as his sister found, things are not always as they seem.
In the end what they feared the most comes to reality, the battle, waged between staying true to life in the sea or changing a race of people to become more powerful and diverse. Will Ever and James survive the lines drawn in the sand or will they have to battle each other for what they believe? Little do they know the battle in the end, will be something entirely different than what they were ready for.

CHARACTER PROFILES:
Ever Harding- Ever is short and athletic. She has green eyes and long auburn hair. She turns 18 in Just Breathe having to make the choice of a lifetime. Unfortunately, she tends to zone out when things become too hard to handle emotionally, she faints! She loves with her whole heart and falls hard for Jack. She tends to flip- flop around a lot with decisions because she overanalyzes things. So when Alex comes into the picture, you can imagine. She loves to swim and prefers to be home rather than out partying.
Jack Tanner-Jack is long and lean but still muscular. He has dark brown hair that is shaggy on top. His eyes are blue on days that he is clearheaded and happy but they turn green when he's troubled. He tries so hard to stay true to what he believes but meeting Ever, changes him in every way. He is faithful, sweet, and tender. He puts others before himself so some of the decisions he makes, don't always turn out well for him in the end.
James Harding - James is tall with dirty blonde hair and vivid brown eyes. He is Ever's brother and very dark and moody in Just Breathe. He is seventeen and just a typical teenager. However, when things happen to him against his own choices, he grows up and changes, becoming more mature and aware. He is strong, but like his sister, easily believes in others. James is a protector. He wants everyone to be safe. He has a hard time dealing with emotional females.
Alex Raver - Alex is tall and solid. He has short blonde hair and vibrant green eyes. Alex is strong and forceful. He emanates calmness when he's around. He is faithful and fights wholly for what he believes. He's soft when it comes to Ever though and bends to her needs and wants. Alex tries to protect Ever but he can't protect her from herself.
Gabbi Jones - Gabbi is thin with curly, red hair. She is sweet, bubbly and supportive. She is the ultimate best friend who always looks on the bright side and brings Ever out of her sadness. She begins her first love in Just Breathe and proves, she is the stable person Ever needs.
Sarah Crane - Sarah is tall and blonde with turquoise eyes. She first appears in Barely Breathing and makes sure she is noticed by James. She is a fighter and fights for what she wants, always.
