For Annie Phillips, there is a right way to do things and everything has a place. College and her flawless GPA are top priority, as is planning her perfect future. Anything less than perfection is unacceptable. So when she meets Loden Guiles, she believes she has finally found her perfect happily-ever-after.
Chase Malloy is funny, loyal, and an all around nice guy. He’s also sloppy, tattooed, and undirected. All Chase wants to do is survive college, hang out with friends, and make music. Knowing his best friend’s step-sister since they were fourteen, Annie and he have always had a love-hate relationship. The last thing Chase expects is to fall for Annie, but he knows he’ll never live up to her idea of the perfect man.
On the outside, Annie and Loden’s relationship appears picture perfect. But behind closed doors, Annie quickly realizes Loden isn’t the man he pretends to be. Every time her not so well laid plans crumble, and Loden proves to be not so Mr. Right, Chase is there to pick her up and brush her off. Will she realize the perfection she’s been searching for has been in front of her all this time?
*Long After is a companion novel to Sometimes Never and Before Now. Many of the same characters appear in Chase and Annie's story. However, it can be read as a stand-alone book.
**This is a new adult novel. Due to harsh language, sexual situations, and violence, this book is recommended for 17+.

5 FABULOUS STARS!!!
I have read and LOVED every single book in Cheryl McIntyre’s Sometimes Never series. Long After was no exception! Cheryl has a writing style that truly touches my soul! Her characters and their witty banter is totally priceless!
Annie Phillips is planning a future filled with all the material items she believes she needs to be happy. She is conquering college one perfect grade at a time and her life is filled with one to do list after another. Annie has felt like an outsider most of her life, not only within her own family but also with the superficial friends she surrounded herself with in high school.
Chase is definitely out of my comfort zone. He’s also, ironically, the person I feel safest with. My highest connection. My home. And sometimes, you just need to go home.
Chase Malloy is the laid back fun loving guy we all hope to have in our life. He has a very lackadaisical approach to education and assumes his "career" will consist of whatever pays the bills at the time. Chase only has eyes for Annie, which is funny because he has spent the last six years bickering with her and assumes she despises him.
“I’ve loved you for so long,” he murmurs. “Long before you ever loved me, and I’ll love you long after.”
sigh…. Chase makes my heart beat just a little bit faster.
Annie starts dating Logen Guiles. Logen has the perfect future laid out right before Annie's eyes. He will soon be attending law school, then off to the perfect job, colonial home, 2.5 kids and luxury cars. Annie can see all that she has ever wanted almost within her grasp. She only has two things standing in the way.... First, she doesn't love Logen and second he develops a very scary temper.
Once Annie is finally free the dangerous relationship with Logen, she slowly begins repairing the dark spot Logen left behind.
“At the beginning, I thought I loved Logen, but it became clear quickly that I didn’t. Couldn’t. I never gave him my heart. What Logen broke in me was physical and psychological. He messed with something that was already fragile, but I can repair it. I am working on it.”.... “You’ve become so important to me. If this doesn’t go well, what you’ll break… I don’t think I’ll be able to fix it.”...“I don’t know if I can ever fully give you my heart, but I know I don’t want anyone else to have it.”
We see Annie and Chase become closer and closer. For weeks and months their relationship is only a friendship which entails soft touches and sweet moments. I was literally aching for them to take it to the next level.
“I didn’t kiss you just then because I fucking care about you. I’ve cared about you for a long time/ When I kiss you for the first time, it’s not going to be overpowered with grief and trepidation. And you aren’t going to jump with I touch you…… And I want you to be sure I’m who you want. Because I’m not playing around here. I’m all in. I don’t know if it’s right or wrong, and I’m at the point that I don’t really give a shit anymore.”
Cheryl McIntyre totally rocked my world with Chase and Annie's story. I am in constant awe that Cheryl can take sensitive topics and incorporate them in to totally lovable books. This is a must read series!
